 Davido logistics manager, Isreal DMW Afeare, publicly demands the return of his bride price from his estranged wife, Sheila David.

The couple tied the knot in October 2022, but their marriage came to an abrupt end in November 2023. Now, a dispute has arisen over the return of the bride price, with conflicting statements from both parties.

Sheila David recently revealed on Tuesday that she had returned Isreal’s bride price, responding to an Instagram follower’s suggestion. However, Isreal DMW refuted her claims, insisting that the bride price was never returned to him.

Taking to his Instagram story, Isreal DMW urged Sheila to return the bride price in a “proper way,” emphasizing that a mere transfer of funds would not suffice. He clarified that his family, not him personally, paid the bride price directly by hand during the traditional marriage ceremony.

Asserting the legal dimension of their union, Isreal DMW highlighted that their marriage was solemnized under the law and could only be dissolved by the Federal High Court after two years.

The public dispute over the return of the bride price has attracted attention and raised questions about the intricacies of traditional marriage customs and legal procedures in Nigeria.
