Economic Hardship: Nnewi Anglican Church Pays WAEC, NECO Fees For Members

An Anglican Church in Nnewi, St. Mark’s Anglican Church, Nnewichi, Nnewi, has spent millions in paying West African Examination Council (WAEC) and National Examination Council of Nigeria (NECO) of members.

To cushion the effect of the current economic hardship on some of their members, they also paid the Basic Education Certificate Education (BECE) popularly known as Junior WAEC, and also National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE) and First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC), fees.

Anaedoonline.ng gathered that while the church paid eighty thousand naira (₦80,000) each for the WAEC and NECO of ten (10) persons, they also paid for BECE (Junior WAEC) exam fees for fourteen (14) church members at twenty thousand naira (₦20,000) each.

The church also took care of the bills for the First School Leaving Certificate exams for ten (10) persons at fifteen thousand naira (₦15,000) each.

This is not the first time, St. Mark’s Anglican Church Nnewichi, Nnewi, or its Vicar, Ven. Arinze Anene has been on the news.

It will be recalled that on June 24th, 2019, Anaedoonline.ng reported that Ven. Arinze Anene provided free petrol to commercial motorcycle riders in Nnewi, at A-Z Filling Station near Traffic Light, Old Okigwe Road Nnewi.

On May 21, 2021, St. Mark’s Parish Nnewichi, also provided free fuel supply to three hundred (300) Okada riders in Nnewi, Nenco Filling Station along Nnewi-Onitsha Old Road.

Also, on June 24, 2021, the Priest, Ven Arinze Anene distributed free food to artisans at the popular Ogbo-Olu Nnewi along Hundred Foot Road Nnewi.

BUHARI’S WAEC CERTIFICATE’S FAKE – Opposition

On Friday, 30th September, 2022, St. Mark’s Anglican Church, Nnewichi, also distributed free fuel to two hundred (200), Okada, and Keke riders in Nnewi, at ADON DONAC filling station, Nnewi.

Anaedoonline.ng also learnt that the Church on December, 2023, distributed about two hundred (200) bags of rice to widows in Nnewichi.
