Woman Stabbed to Death by Househelp in Gbagada, Lagos

A shocking incident has struck the Gbagada area of Lagos as a yet-to-be-identified woman was found stabbed to death in her apartment on 29, Kiniun-ifa street sawmill. The perpetrator, identified as Peter, the househelp, has fled the scene, leaving behind a gruesome scene of violence.

The exact timeline of the murder remains uncertain, with no witnesses able to pinpoint the moment of the crime. The woman’s lifeless body was discovered on Saturday, March 9, 2024, by her son who came to visit. Upon his arrival, he was met with the devastating sight of his mother’s corpse lying on the staircase, surrounded by blood.

The building, where the deceased resided alone, was found locked when authorities arrived. It was noted that there were three shops situated in front of the building, adding to the eeriness of the scene.

Residents, speaking anonymously, recounted the shock and horror of discovering the woman’s body. They described finding a long piece of wood believed to be the murder weapon, indicating a violent struggle had ensued. Tragically, the condition of the body suggested that the woman may have been killed days before her discovery.

Investigations revealed that the fleeing househelp had resumed work just a week before the tragic incident. Efforts to locate the agent who brought the househelp proved futile, leading to the arrest of a relative associated with the agent.

The deceased son, too overwhelmed with grief, was unable to provide any further insight into the unfolding tragedy. The community remains in shock as they grapple with the senseless loss of life and the search for justice for the victim.
