KFC Nigeria Apologizes Over Alleged Discrimination Against Adebola Daniel

After the airport authority closed one of KFC Nigeria’s locations due to claims that the company discriminated against Adebola Daniel, the company apologised.

KFC Nigeria apologised for Mr. Daniel’s and the other impacted parties’ suffering in a statement posted on X on Thursday. The company also revealed steps to rectify the issue, such as training for staff members on inclusiveness and compassionate customer care.

“We sincerely apologise to those affected and deeply regret the frustration and distress experienced by our guest,” the statement read.

Adebola Daniel, the son of former state governor of Nigeria Gbenga Daniel, said on social media that he was asked to leave a KFC restaurant at the Lagos airport due to his wheelchair. This was published by Anaedoonline.ng.

After the incident caused a great deal of indignation and prompted an investigation by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), the popular fast-food franchise located at the Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos State was announced to be closing by FAAN.

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) ordered KFC to apologise to Mr. Adebola as part of the restaurant’s closure. Before reopening, FAAN further required the fast food company to post a clear non-discrimination policy at the location.
