Nnewi: Councilor Distributes Bags Of Rice, Cash Gifts, To Widows In Uruagu

To ameliorate the current hardship occasioned by the rising cost of living, resulting in inflation of food and commodities prices, Emmanuel Okaforagu has distributed food items to widows in Uruagu, Nnewi.

Evang. Emmanuel Okaforagu who is the Councilor representing Uruagu Ward 2, at Nnewi North Local Government Council, said that the philanthropic gesture was not politically motivated or sponsored by the government.

According to him, the act was voluntary and a personal effort towards putting smiles on the faces of indigent widows and less privileged in his ward.

Speaking further, he said that the distribution of the palliative was done from his pocket with the support of some of his friends.

He urged privileged individuals in the town to provide succor to the less privileged especially with the excruciating pain caused by the economic hardship in the country.

Anaedoonline.ng reports that over 50 women benefited from the bags of rice and cash gifts.
