Why Rivers People Made Fubara Their Political Leader – Peter Odili

Governor Siminalayi Fubara is the state’s political leader, according to endorsement from former Rivers State Governor Peter Odili.

The governor’s defence of the people’s interests was likewise commended by the outgoing governor.

Having “secured his electoral victory both through the ballot and the courts,” Fubara has gained the position of leadership, according to Odili, the former governor of Rivers State (1999–2007).

At the launching of a Primary Healthcare Centre in Ndoni, which his PAMO Foundation donated, he gave a speech on Thursday.

The former governor urged Fubara “to act with this awareness in all your decision-making,” threatening that “if Rivers State sneezes, the entire Nigeria would catch cold.”

He says in his first year in office, Fubara has accomplished great things in important areas.

In order to get the attention and assistance of the federal government for the state, Odili urged the governor to continue aligning with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his ideas.

“Thanks for standing up to defend the interest of all Rivers people. We are proud of you. Politics is over; it is now time for governance. You have hit the ground running,” he said.

“Your government is aligning correctly with President Tinubu’s government, especially in the area of education agriculture and now health sector.

“Our people said I should tell you to stand with the president and align with his positive policies and link the people of Rivers State with the centre.

“They have asked me to tell you that you are the political leader of Rivers State. Rivers people say where you go, they will go with you; where you stand, they will stand with you. Don’t look back, stay focused, knowing that your people are behind you.”
