Afrobeats sensation Davido has extended his solidarity to Cubana Chief Priest, the renowned socialite, following his release on bail by a Lagos court amidst accusations of naira abuse.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had recently filed a three-count charge against the social media personality for purported naira abuse. Cubana, whose real name is Pascal Okechukwu, allegedly engaged in spraying and tampering with the nation’s currency at a social gathering, an act deemed to contravene the Central Bank Act of 2007.

Appearing before the Federal High Court in Lagos, Cubana entered a plea of not guilty to the charges brought against him. Presiding over the case, Judge Kehinde Ogundare granted the defendant bail in the sum of N10 million. This bail required two credible sureties to act as guarantors, with the stipulation that the bail terms must be fulfilled within seven days. Failure to meet these conditions would result in Cubana facing remand in a correctional facility pending further legal proceedings.
