The Federal Capital Territory’s (FCT) Commissioner of Police, CP Benneth C. Igweh, reports that the command has been granted the N20 million bounty that FCT Minister Nyesom Wike had earlier set on two infamous kidnappers.
The Commissioner revealed this in a statement released on Thursday by SP Josephine Adeh, the command spokesperson.
The commissioner, according to Adeh, conveyed “sincere appreciation on behalf of the administration and staff of the FCT Police Command for the thoughtful act of the honourable minister, FCT, Chief Barr. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, for keeping his word to the Command.”

According to Anaedoonline.ng, on February 14, 2024, the Minister awarded a N20 million bounty to two of the most infamous and sought-after kidnappers in the Federal Capital Territory.
Since then, FCT command agents have apprehended the desired criminal elements.
Such actions were taken in response to “the minister’s leadership and responsiveness to the security and safety of residents,” the CP claimed.
“The Command is therefore highly honored and grateful for his unflinching and continuous support in combating crime and ensuring the well-being of the residents.
“The CP ensured that the fund was distributed amongst the tactical teams and the divisional police officers of the command to ensure better service delivery.

“The Commissioner also reassured the Minister and the residents of the territory that the command under his leadership will leave no stone unturned in the fight against crime and criminality in the nation’s capital”.
