You’ll Pay The Price – Tinubu Sends Strong Warning To Yoruba Nation Agitators

Ethnic agitators endangering Nigeria’s unity and sovereignty have been forewarned by President Bola Tinubu that they will be held accountable for their deeds.

In the context of the Yoruba Nation agitators’ takeover of the Oyo State House of Assembly Complex in Agodi, Ibadan, he gave the warning.

The agitators, who were carrying firearms and dressed in camouflage, announced the independence of the “Democratic Republic of the Yoruba” in a widely shared video clip.

According to a statement released by the president’s spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, Tinubu addressed the matter in a meeting with Pa Reuben Fasoranti, the leader of the Yoruba socio-cultural organisation Afenifere.

Tinubu warned: “Those who think they can threaten the sovereignty of Nigeria will have themselves to blame.

“They have a price to pay and we are not going to relent.”

Tinubu also said his administration had recorded significant progress against insurgency where it exists in the country, adding that he would not relent in the fight against criminals.

He said: “I am irrevocably committed to the unity of Nigeria and constitutional democracy.

“Constitutional democracy is reflected greatly here since we assumed office. What we face now is the challenge of terrorism.
