In Awgbu Community, Anambra State, a deadly road traffic accident claimed five lives and injured countless others. Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate for 2023, offered his deepest condolences to the families who lost loved ones.
In a post made public on his official social media pages, he stressed the need of support and unity during such difficult times.
“I am sincerely saddened by the tragic news of the fatal road traffic accident that occurred in Awgbu Community, Anambra State, today. My heartfelt condolences go out to the families who lost their loved ones and prayers for quick healing to those injured,” Peter Obi tweeted.

In addition to praising the Federal Road Safety Commission’s (FRSC) prompt action and the help given by bystanders to the victims, Obi also emphasised the significance of community support and efficient emergency response in lessening the effects of similar incidents.
“The response of the FRSC and the selfless efforts of passersby who rendered assistance reflect our true humanity as a people. In times of pain like this, we must stand together and support one another,” he added.
