Mr. Bamidele Ologunloluwa, the Ondo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, has praised Sunshine Stars’ young players for their triumph in the recently finished NPFL/LaLiga U-15 Promises, which was held in Ikenne, Ogun State.
Despite Edward Miracle’s missed penalty attempt in the second half, the squad defeated El Kanemi Warriors 1-0 to secure third place.
On Sunday, the commissioner welcomed the players to Akure and gave them a compliment. Additionally, he thanked Rotimi Akeredolu, the state’s governor, for his assistance and support of the group.

Our youngsters have never had it so good at this level and so we are proud of them. If Pele could start his professional career before age 16, then I see the light at the end of the tunnel for them.
“I thank Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for creating an enabling environment for sports, especially football in Ondo State, part of the results we witnessed in the NPFL/LaLiga U15 tournament.”
He added his expectation is “that some of these rookies would in the near future be drafted into our team in the Nigeria Premier Football League just as it was done in the days of Ondo State Football Development Agency.”
