President Bola Tinubu, accompanied by top government officials, marked the conclusion of Ramadan by attending Eid el-Fitr prayers at Dodan Barracks in Ikoyi, Lagos. The President emphasized the importance of tolerance and empathy among Muslims, urging them to maintain the spirit of Ramadan beyond the holy month.

Addressing the gathering through Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, President Tinubu stressed the need for religious harmony and charitable deeds. He encouraged Muslims to continue exhibiting the compassion and generosity demonstrated during Ramadan, emphasizing the significance of supporting the less privileged.

The Grand Chief Imam of Lagos, Sheik Sulaiman Abou Nolla, led the prayer session, highlighting the blessings of fasting and the importance of unity among Nigerians. He emphasized that national development hinges on togetherness and diversity, calling on both the government and citizens to promote discipline, lawfulness, and peace in communities.

Dignitaries present at the prayer ground included former Minister of Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, Minister of Blue Economy, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, as well as members of the Lagos Council of Traditional White Cap Chiefs. Also in attendance were Tinubu’s Private Secretary, Hakeem Muri-Okunola, and Lagos Head of Service, Olanode Agoro, among others.
