The Nnewi Youth Forum has expressed their appreciation to major political parties in Nnewi North LGA, especially the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) and the Young Progressive Party (YPP) for choosing the chairmanship candidates and majority of the Councillorship candidates of their respective parties from the forum ahead of the Sept. 28th local government elections in Anambra State.

The forum through a statement released from the office of the President of the Forum, Hon Ejim Ucheagwu after the general meeting of the forum held on Sunday, 22nd September at Igwe Nnewi Palace stated that this was in line with a resolution passed at the July meeting of the forum calling on political parties to ensure the emergence of their candidates from the membership of the forum as there abound in all parties members of the forum with rich pedigree and strong antecedents running for various offices.
The release further stated that the the President Hon. Ejim, has at different occasions highlighted on the need for candidates to remain issues based in their various campaign activities while also reminding them of the need to remain conscious of their status as members of Nnewi Youth Forum in their dealings as candidates as only one of them would be returned elected for various offices in contention during local government area next Saturday.
The president noted that both Hon. Paul Moneke JP. (YPP), immediate past president , Hon. Echezona Anazodo (APGA), the immediate past assistant secretary of the forum are worthy brothers and high profile members of Nnewi Youth forum and as expected, supporters must desist from using derogatory remarks on any of them.

The forum will not tolerate the victimizations of any form for our members as restraint and caution must be applied by commentators in analysing the candidates, hence, we will move into actions, using the instrumentality of our huge human resources to protect the rights of our members during the contest,the president stated.
On the part of the candidates; the President, Hon. Ejim Ucheagwu yet again, reminded them of the many years of our struggles for a youthful takeover of governance at the grassroot level and therefore, admonished that whomsoever that emerges from the polls on Saturday should not attempt to sabotage the forum through poor performance, rather, the winner must show capacity and improve the lives of the common man in Nnewi through developmental policies.
The meeting also had in attendance the Nnewi North Cordinator of 1Youth2Skills,Miss Adaobi Chibueze, who spoke on the importance of the program and the need for members of the forum to key in fully.
Finally,the President, on behalf of Nnewi Youth Forum, presented a cheque for logistics support to both the APGA Chairmanship candidate,Hon Echezona Anazodo and YPP chairmanship candidate,Hon Paul moneke JP and urged members to make the right choice come next Saturday.
