OPINION: Using “Speakership” projection to deny Nnewi South Constituency II quality representation

Good work, they say, speaks for itself and a good product needs no much embellished marketing strategies.
I am not a big fan of Hon. Chris Emeka Azubogu, a member representing Nnewi North, Nnewi North & Ekwusigo Federal Constituency. A man whose numerous projects he attracted have touched all the facets of the constituencies that even a blind man can feel it.

An Okada man plying from Nnewi to Ukpor sees Hon. Azubogu’s projects, a trader at the popular Ibeto roundabout sees Azubogu’s works, a woman frying “Akara” at St. Michael Junction applauds Azubogu’s works, youths who benefitted from his batches of empowerment are aware of his works. Even the oppositions are not left out. The only factor they are using against him is to respect rotational system in the constituency. No sincere person has ever said Hon. Azubogu’s performance is not commendable.

In Nnewi South Constituency II where the incumbent Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly hails from. A constituency where people should be happy for having their own in such a magnificent and enviable position which every lawmaker wishes to be.

But unfortunately, The reverse seems to be the case. A woman living at umuezeana ehim village, Ukpor whose child is sick cannot get a paracetamol at the primary healthcare centre close to her. What would then be the fate of a woman in a labour within that locality?

When there is a little downpour, a commercial motorcyclist cannot take you from umunuko to umuohaba within Ukpor. Even a woman from Mputu/Amihe Ukpor can not find her way back home due to bad roads. An obvious effects of poor representation.

The only thing they campaign with is “ Being returned as a Speaker”. Who said speakership is by appointment? Speakership is by convention and when it’s zoned to Anambra South Lawmakers, anyone who is qualified can win and emerge a SPEAKER. What importance is uncertain speakership projection when the effect of this current one is not felt?  Then I ask again; do we prefer uncertain speakership to a good and quality respresentation, that can improve the lives and gives hope to our people ?

Just check this, the only project that attracted Gov. willie Obiano for commissioning is “HER ALMIGHTY STATUE” after  8years  NA WETIN WE GAIN  ” AKPUOLA YA ”
