Disturbed by the deplorable state of roads across Nnewi North Local Government Area, youths of Nnewi community under the auspices Nnewi Youth Forum, led by its president, Amb. Paul Arinze Muoneke, Saturday, November 10, embarked on the voluntary fixing of more deplorable portions of the roads with a view to relieving difficulties experienced by road users.

Anaedooline reports that deplorable posture of Nnewi roads has remained a nightmare to residents and visitors, especially during rainy season.
Tagged Operation Zero Tolerance on Potholes in Nnewi, President of the Forum, Paul Muoneke, said the effort was exclusively the idea of Nnewi youths aimed at making failed portions of Nnewi roads motorable.
Said he: “This project is not politically motivated or sponsored by any individual or organization. We are doing this in order to make sure that our roads become motorable, especially now festive period is nearer.
“This project will be continued; we are only launching the first phase of it; but I believe, with maximum support and cooperation, we are capable of doing more than this.”
The youths president urged concerned authorities to urgently give needed attention to Nnewi roads.
Also speaking to Anaedoonline, the works committee chairman of the forum, Hon. Ejim Ucheagwu said that the first phase of operation zero tolerance on potholes in Nnewi focused on major roads like Nnewi-Nnobi road, Nkwo Triangle, Bishops Court axis, First Bank Junction and Okpunoeze Bustop area.
