Armed Robbery: POLICE NAB 3 IN ANAMBRA COMMUNITY

The Anambra State Police Command has arrested three youths in Nkpor community, Idemili North Local Government Area over an alleged armed robbery.

According to a report issued by the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Haruna Mohammed, the suspects were arrested in connection with armed robbery incidences at different points within the community.

According to the report, on Sunday, December 23, at about 10 pm, following a distress call that some hoodlums were robbing motorists in a traffic gridlock at Central School Road, Umusiome- Nkpor, in Idemili South LGA of Anambra State,
police detectives attached to Ogidi Division responded swiftly and nabbed one Sunday Eze, 22, who was arrested in possession of one battle axe, even as his gang members escaped.

The report further informed that at about 2 am on Monday, December 24, following another distress call of a robbery incident at the same location, police patrol team responded and arrested one Gabriel Ogadi, 20, of Umusiome Nkpor, and recovered one locally made single barrel pistol with two live cartridges.

The report further revealed that police patrol team attached to Isiowulu Division, on Monday, December 24, at about 9 pm while on stop and search, arrested one Uchenna Okoro, 31.

Okoro was allegedly arrested at Afa Street, Odume Layout, Obosi, with a stolen Toyota Corolla Car with Registration number FGG 828, which, according to the report, belong to one Uchenna Obioha. The vehicle was reported stolen since November 2018.

The Anambra State police spokesman, Haruna Mohammed, also told Anaedoonline that the police is intensifying the investigation into the activities of the arrested suspects after which the cases would be charged to court for prosecution.
