“After the War, I went Back To the Bank To withdraw the Money I saved before the war, but i and so many other Igbos were given only N20, 000 to share among ourselves. It was too small compared to what i had before the war, so i lost virtually everything.

From the share of the Money i got from the Bank, i purchased Textiles in bits to sell, i made small profits, as my profits grew, i started traveling to buy more textiles, then opened a Store with a Brand Name “John Fancy Stores.

I am one of the Pioneers of Textile Business in Nkwo Nnewi.

At That Time, I was Young and agile, so traveling and hustling was not a problem for me, i could boost the growth of my business, unlike now that I’m old. I don’t do much traveling now, but my business is still doing well.

Right now, I’m 70, with Beautiful Children and Grandchildren.

As the Vice Chairman, Nnewi Traders Association, I and the executive members of Nkwo Nnewi market work and contribute our best to ensure a better and safer market, because apart from a co-ordination of activities in the market, we are also saddled with the task of being mediators between traders and state government.”

Sir John Nwosu,
CEO, John Fancy Stores,
Vice Chairman, Nnewi Traders Association.
