Prof. Kingsley Moghalu Frowns At The Presidency’s Grip On CBN

Former Deputy Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Prof. Kingsley Moghalu, has condemned what appears to be the obvious control of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) by Nigeria’s President, Mohammadu Buhari.

Kingsley Moghalu while reacting on the recent statement credited to President Muhammadu Buhari’s order, in which he directs the Central Bank of Nigeria to ban FOREX on food importation.

Reacting through his twitter handle, Prof. Kingsley Moghalu reiterated that constant political interference on decisions on the CBN has made the “Nigeria economy weak”. He also advised the presidency to leave the CBN to undertake its economic responsibility as an independent body under article 1(3) of the Nigerian constitution.

Meanwhile, the former Deputy Governor Of Central Bank had previously frowned at the Nigerian youth lukewarm attitude towards Nigerian elections as against their approach to reality Tv shows.
