Justice For Jemima: Nigerians React

Many untimely death from victims of Gunshots, Accidents, injuries from attacks and fights would have been avoided if only medical practitioners had attended to the patients instead of insisting on police reports.

Mixed reactions have continued to trend on social media on the need champion by the situation of jemima.

According to the “Compulsory Treatment & Care of Victims of Gunshot Act, 2017”, refusal to treat such a victim carries a 5-year jail sentence. Jemima’s case wasn’t even a gunshot wound but an accident & you ask for a police report? Those involved need to be jailed! #justiceforjemima

My younger sister: Jemima, was involved in a road accident on her way to church, on Sunday morning. She was in her sophomore year at the University of Jos, Nigeria: studying Statistics. Her friend: Jennifer, who she commuted with, was in her final year.
