Christ The Way Secondary School (CTWSS) Egbo Uruagu Nnewi held their 25th anniversary on 16th November, 2019, at the school premises.

The anniversary celebration kicked off with a mass at St. John the Cross, Catholic Church Egbo, Uruagu-Nnewi.

The Anniversary was anchored on three premise, a celebration of mass, inter-house sports, and an Award to deserving personalities. The second part of the event, which was the inter-house sports and award started by 2:00 pm.

Awards were given to about 25 persons including the past managers and coordinators of the school, past principals and vice-principals, teachers, government officials and a post-humous award to Late Mr Micheal Anaeto.

Others who received an award includes Rev. Father Benedict Onwudinjo (little Lamb), Mr. Eleanya D.U, Uche Odigbo, Ms Obinegbo Chidi, Rev. Fr. Paul Onwughalu, Very Rev. Fr. Peter Uzonna Ezeani, Bro Philip Aboy, Bro. Paul Ezewanne, Bro. Ikechukwu Robert, Bro. Eloka Anthony, Bro. Cyril Ozue, Bro.Joseph Udoh, Chief Dr.George Muoghalu, Hon. Ikechukwu Obiora, Sir. Micheal Akudimobi, Mr Okani Eugene, Mr Ebokasia Augustine, Ezeh Stella, Mrs Igwebuike Ebere, Mrs Enemuo Njideka Eucharia, Mrs Okeke Uzoma, Mrs Umezulike Tina.

In an interview with one of the past Principal of CTWSS, Sir. Micheal Akudimobi, he said, “It has been ten years since I left the school, I am happy they still remembered to give this award to me and many of us who were here”. He said his experience at CTWSS, is one he will always cherish. He also stated that he prays that the school will continue to make giant strides academically and also raise students who are excellent representatives.

The Alumni Association were highly represented in their numbers. According to Michael Bonaventure Chinedu, who spoke on behalf of the alumni, he said, the alumni worked together to support the school towards the anniversary. He said the alumni are also rewarding some of the best students in the school; this is to encourage them to work hard.

 

Some of the guests who attended the event include Most Revd.Hilary Okeke (Catholic Bishop Of Nnewi) , Mr George Muoghalu, ably represented by Mr Gabriel Gnigeme, Bro Joseph Odo, Very. Fr Dr. Cletus Chukwuemeka, Rev. Fr Dr. Ben Onwudinjo, Fr. Peter Ezeani(Rector of St. Paul Seminary), Sir Augustine Ikeh (Ike-Edoji), Dr & Amb. Ikechukwu/ Ogee Obiukwu, CEO of Organizer Oil, ably represented by his wife, Lady Ndidi Mezue (Ably represented) Dr and Amb. Ikechukwu/Oge Obiukwu ( MD Ebenator Hospital), Prof. Obi Nwosu (MD Chimex Hospital), Msgr Hypolite Adigiwe ( Chairman Anambra State Catholic Education commission), Hon. Sir Melie Onyejepu Foundation was fully represented, many Religious and Clergy were also in attendance.

There were sporting activities like match past among the students in different house colors, as well as the teachers, parents and alumni students. The students also participated in track events and also badminton, volleyball, and football.

The event was spiced up with entertaining activities from the students. There was a rendition of songs and spoken poetry and also choreography.
