General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida popularly known as IBB, is a Nigerian statesman and a military general who served as military Head of State of Nigeria from 1985 until his resignation in 1993.
He also served as the Chief of Army Staff from January 1984 to August 1985 during the administration of General Muhammad Buhari. Babangida rose through the ranks in the military and fought during the Nigerian civil war. He was a stunt key plotter of military coups in Nigeria.

He got married to his heartthrob, Mariya Muhammed king on the 6th September, 1969. They had four children together; Aisha, Muhammad, Aminu, and Halima. Maryam Babangida died on 27 December 2009 from complications of ovarian cancer.
The former first lady was known for introducing several agendas that eases life for fellow women.
