The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has left its door open for the Edo State governor, Godwin Obaseki to join the party.

The PDP noted that Obaseki and other chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who may be aggrieved by developments in their party ahead of the September 19 2020 governorship election in the state are welcome to defect to the PDP.

This position was announced by Chief Kola Ologbondiyan the PDP National Publicity Secretary during a press conference in Abuja on Monday.

Ologbondiyan added that the PDP has not given Obaseki stringent conditions for joining and securing the party’s ticket including asking for huge sums of money ahead of the polls.

Meanwhile, We earlier reported that Mr Kenneth Imansuangbon, one of the Peoples Democratic Party’s aspirants for Edo State governorship race has boasted that he has ‘God’s backing’ to emerge as the state governor.

Speaking on his part, Kenneth in a recent interview with newsmen disclosed that he is confident of emerging victorious at the end of the polls.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed September 19, 2020 for the conduct of the Edo State governorship election and so far, it appears like a two-horse race between the PDP and the APC.
