Lingard, Martial Scores As Man Utd Qualify For Europa League Quarter-Final

Manchester United midfielder, Jesse Lingard, has reacted to his side’s Europa League 2-1 victory over LASK on Wednesday night.

Lingard and Anthony Martial scored for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side as they defeated LASK on 7-1 aggregate to qualify for the Europa League quarter-final.

The England international said the club is in his blood, adding that he loves playing for the Red Devils. “Of course, you take confidence from goals,” Lingard told BT Sport.

“I wanted to add goals this season, and I started and scored, so hopefully now I can carry on throughout the rest of the Europa League.

“When you are not in the right mental state, football takes your mind away from everything. I love playing football, enjoy football and, of course, Man Utd is in my blood. I love playing for the club.”

United defeated LASK 5-0 in the first leg, with Odion Ighalo, Daniel James, Juan Mata, Mason Greenwood, and Andreas Pereira all in the score sheet.

Anaedoonline.ng recalled that Former Manchester United stars, Paul Ince and Owen Hargreaves while reacting to striker, Odion Ighalo’s goal predicted that the Nigerian forward has enough to offer at old trafford.

Ince told BT Sport: “Ighalo’s goal reminds me of one of those goals you try in training.

“If it is a full house, I do not know if he would score. Maybe I am doing a disservice to him, but I do not know.”

Also reacting, Owen said: “Come on, Incey, that is a beautiful goal from him [Ighalo]. “That is one of the best goals he’s ever scored in his career so far.”

Man United will now take on LASK next Thursday in the Europa League round of 16 second-leg at Old Trafford.
