The English Premier League has been hit by 14 new COVID-19 cases from 12 different clubs as stars return for pre-season training.

This is amidst fear players partying with rival stars on holiday could lead to even more coronavirus cases.

According to report there are concerns that the positive tests have come from players returning from holidays abroad.

The figures are unofficial, but the Premier League are only expected to regularly publish test results when the new season starts on September 12.

Club officials are said to be concerned cases could continue to rise after players were pictured partying on holiday with pals from rival clubs over the past few weeks.

Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli was snapped with James Maddison and Jack Grealish in Ibiza.

And Chelsea transfer target Declan Rice holidayed with life-long friend Mason Mount on the Greek island of Mykonos, where Tammy Abraham, Fikayo Tomori and Christian Pulisic were also pictured.

Eight EPL Clubs Could Play In UCL, Europa Next Season

Blues midfielder Danny Drinkwater also hung out with his former Leicester colleague Ben Chilwell.

Liverpool were one of the sides believed to have recorded one positive test after they landed at their pre-season training camp in Austria on Saturday.

Eight clubs are still yet to return to training, with Man City, Man Utd, Chelsea and Wolves among them due to their European commitments.
