A motherless 6-year-old girl was raped by a 22-year-old man in Edo State, and her guardians are being forced to drop the case for money.
The story was shared by Hon. Omosedei Igbinedion, who shared a photo of the child and explained that the girl lost her mother and her biological father is nowhere to be found. She had to go live with her mum’s sister and her husband and that where she got raped by a 22-year-old man.

Omosedei added that the man standing in as the girl’s father is a Keke driver and he was encouraged to take 200,000 Naira to allow the case to die down but he rejected it and wants justice.
According to Omosedei, the “rapist is walking free, believing he is above the law and has gotten away with it.”
The Honorable promised to ensure that justice is served and the alleged rapist is tried. She called for an end to rape and child abuse.
In similar news, Anaedooline had reported that Delta State police command have in custody a 46-year-old security guard who allegedly raped an eight-year-old girl.
The exploit occurred in Ibusa community in Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta state on Monday, August 24, in an uncompleted building.
Police Public Relations Officer, Onome Onovwakpoyeya, told journalists in Asaba that the suspect was brought to light by concerned neighbors.
“The suspect was caught in the act by his neighbors after he lured the little girl into the building,” Onome said.
According to NAN, the suspect is a security guard at the building construction site which is close to the victim’s house.
“We learned from the little girl that the suspect lured her into the building by lying that he would send her on an errand. When her parents did not see her, they alerted people.
“A woman said she saw the little girl entering the uncompleted building. We rushed into the building and caught him defiling her. We found that he tied the hands of the girl before forcing his way into her body.”
The source disclosed that the father of the victim, a Pastor, had decided not to file cases against the security guard to protect the girl from stigmatization.
“The father was not prepared to raise any alarm, but we were angry and arrested the suspect. We have taken him to the Ibusa Police Station.”
