The Archbishop, Metropolitan and Primate of Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, The Most Rev. Henry C. Ndukuba, has approved the suspension of Rt. Rev. Rufus Victor Ajileye Adepoju after he confessed to have committed extramarital affair.
Rt. Rev. Rufus Victor Ajileye Adepoju who is the Anglican Bishop of Ekiti West Diocese was suspended following a sexual scandal and abhorrent sexual behaviour with the wife of a priest under his Diocese.
In a letter to the Bishop, the Primate noted that although the Bishop admitted to have involved in sexual immorality, he will be suspended for a period of one (1) year.
He was therefore directed to report and handover to his Archbishop for further spiritual guidance.
Bishop Rufus Adepoju was born on May 10, 1963 to the family of Late Pa Matthew Adepoju of Aafin Compound, Iropora Ekiti and Madam Elizabeth Idowu Adepoju nee Ajayi of Iyanrin quarters, Iyin Ekiti.

He joined ministry as a church agent in January 1985 and was posted to All Saint’s Church, Iyin – Ekiti by the Late Archbishop Abiodun Adetiloye. He got admitted to Immanuel College of Theology, Ibadan later in the year. His Ordination and preferment includes:- Deaconate (1988) Priesthood (1989), Archdeacon (1997). He became Bishop in 2017.
He is married to Christianah Tolulope. The marriage is blessed with children.
