There is wild jubilation in Nnewi following the return of the Traditional Ruler in the town, who was kidnapped on Friday, 12th February, 2021.
His sojourn in the den of the kidnappers and the hands of his abductors, was said to have ended on Tuesday, after he was released.In the video below, there is a massive celebration in the palace of the Traditional Ruler, Obi Afamefuna Charles Obi (Ogidi IV), who is the Traditional of Uruagu-Nnewi.
Although the Traditional Ruler is hale and hearty, part of his left arm was stitched which shows he may have sustained an injury in the process of being abducted by the kidnappers or while trying to escape.
His physical appearance has also shown that he lost weight. At the time of writing, Anaedonline.ng cannot confirm if ransom was paid to effect his release or he was rescued by police officers.

For now, His Highness, Obi Afam Charles Obi, who is the second-ranking Nnewi Traditional Ruler, is back home amidst wild jubilation.
