Shepherd superintendent of the Household of God Church, Rev. Chris Okotie, has condemned the election of Bishop Wale Oke and other national executive members of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN).
In a terse message to the PFN national secretariat, made public by his media adviser, Ladi Ayodeji, Rev Okotie alleged that the Christian body has departed from its core values and is now a shadow of itself.

“PFN has become a clannish religious enterprise. It is akin to an amorphous political entity with a Christian silhouette.

“Leadership in the church of God is by divine appointment and not the whims and caprices of a disjointed assemblage of Episcopalian pacifists,” Okotie said
Okotie, according to Mr Ayodeji, has, for years been critical of the activities of the successive presidents of PFN over what he describes as compromise and unethical behaviour bordering on betrayal of the Christian cause, especially in their dealings with the political leadership of the country.
He has always distanced himself from the activities of Christian body, citing credibility issues.
Oke, the new PFN president, is the founder of Sword of the Spirit Ministries, Ibadan.
However, in a related story, the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) has taken sides with Bishop of Sokoto Catholic diocese, Mathew Kukah on his Christmas message.

PFN warned the federal government to avoid making Kukah a sacrificial lamb for speaking the truth.
Anaedoonline.ng recalls that Kukah, in his message accused President Muhammadu Buhari of nepotism, adding that he was sacrificing the dreams of Nigeria for the pleasure of the north.
According to the cleric, there could have been a coup or war in the country if a non-Nothern Muslim was the President and did some of the things Buhari had done.
His statement ignited controversy and reactions from MURIC and some northern groups, including Arewa Youth Consultative Forum and the APC, which condemned Kukah and called for his prosecution.
