BREAKING: Military Service Chiefs To Meet With Makinde

The Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Leo Irhabor, has led other military chiefs to hold a meeting with the Oyo State Governor, Mr. Seyi Makinde.

The military chiefs were said to have first visited the 2 Division first and they are said to be on their way to the Governor’s Office at the Secretariat in Agodi to meet with the governor.

The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Taiwo Adisa, confirmed this to our correspondent.

He said, ” Yes, they are in Ibadan already. They are almost here to meet the governor.”

There have been security issues in Oyo State and how to tackle the problem is expected to be one of the issues to be discussed at the meeting.

Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, has slammed all those urging government to arrest him because of the meetings he holds with bandits.

Describing such people as clowns, Gumi revealed that government officials also attend the meetings with the bandits.

Speaking to Daily Post, the cleric revealed that he’s not the first to hold dialogue with bandits.

He said, “Even the Kaduna State governor dialogued with them, Zamfara governor dialogued with them.

“I’m not the first person that started dialoguing with them (bandits). I only added value, and I find them to be religious; religion is the only thing that teaches you that blood has sanctity. So this is the religious angle.

I’m trying to gather them and teach them that there is sanctity to life. They cannot kill, rape and so on. This is the addition I hope will work. Note, I never visited these bandits without a government official, but they are in the background.
