Europa League: Team News, Injury Update As AC Milan Host Man Utd

AC Milan will today confront Manchester united in the second leg match of the Europa League at San Siro.

Cavani returned from a muscular injury on March 3 but subsequently sat out the next three games with a knock. He had been included in United’s traveling squad but had to withdraw before departing for Italy due to suffering a reaction to training.

Speaking ahead of the game Solskjaer said: “Unfortunately, it looks like Edinson has got a bit of a reaction to training today and didn’t feel ready to travel.” he is expected to return on March 21.

‘Van de Beek has been out for more than a month with a muscular injury, with United keen to ensure the midfielder is back to full fitness before risking him. Like Pogba, he has travelled with the squad and will face a late fitness test for the game.

“There are a couple that we need to assess if they’re available. We’re assessing them, they’ve been involved in the training session and let’s see tomorrow if there’s a reaction. They all trained yesterday and hopefully no reaction.” He expected to return March 18. Solskjaer said

Bailly has been left at home with an unspecified issue and will be assessed. He played against Milan last week and was an unused substitute against West Ham on Sunday.

“Eric’s being assessed. He might have turned around and said he’s ready but he didn’t train this morning.” He is expected to return. He is expected to return on March 21. United manager revealed.

Martial picked up a knock to his hip in the first leg of the tie with Milan, being forced off at half-time. He missed the victory over West Ham and has been left at home for the second leg. Martial’s a definite no-go. Solskjaer said

Manchester United stretched their unbeaten run to 12 matches in all competitions by beating West Ham 1-0.

Scott McTominay forced an own goal from Craig Dawson to secure an important win in United’s bid to finish second this season, as their focus now switches to important games against AC Milan and Leicester — in the Europa League and FA Cup respectively.
