Actress, Rachael Okonkwo, popularly Known as Nkoli Nwa Nsukka, has said that in light of COVID-19 restrictions, she would be taking her annual three-day Easter carnival to people’s homes, instead of them all coming out to a single venue.
The Enugu State-born actress noted that her aim was to reach out to the underprivileged in society.
She said, “We get caught up in the need to fend for ourselves so much that sometimes, we forget to pause to remember those around us who are underprivileged. The ‘3 days Easter carnival with Nkoli Nwa Nsukka’ is a non-profit event that is inspired by my love for education and the desire to put smiles on people’s faces.”
“It was not an easy task coming up with an idea of how to give back to society without gathering the type of crowd that usually attends the carnival prior to the pandemic. I had to think outside the box and decided to reach them at home, instead of bringing them together. I can’t risk their lives. That is why the plan is to reach the kids at home, the youths at the market, while I would host only widows on Easter Sunday.”
The actress who is an ambassador on youth development in Enugu State added that she would visit children in remote areas to share gifts items.

Okonkwo also stated that the event, which will take place in Enugu, will be attended by celebrities such as Patience Ozokwor, Eucharia Anonubi, Ngozi Ezeonu, Chiege Alisigwe, Nkiru Silvanus, Ebele Okaro, Kcee, Ken Erics, Fredrick Leonard and Zubby Michael.
