According to findings by Anaedoonline.ng, the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, has yet to redeploy Magu, a Commissioner of Police, nine months after his suspension from office.

The ex-EFCC chairman was suspended last July, following a 22-point allegation against him by the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN.

Magu was accused of corruption and abuse of office by the AGF.

The Salami panel reportedly indicted him and also recommended his prosecution for corruption and abuse of office.

It could not be confirmed as of Saturday if the government planned to prosecute Magu as no word had been heard on his case since the President received the report last November.

Our correspondent gathered that the Police Service Commission was waiting to receive a letter for Magu’s redeployment from the force headquarters.

A PSC commissioner said the agency had yet to receive any letter concerning Magu’s posting, adding that his redeployment had not come up for deliberation because the IG had not sent a signal on this.

“The process is that the IG would send the letter of redeployment, which would be discussed by the commissioners on the PSC board. After the posting has been approved, the IG would be informed and the concerned officer would then be notified but we have not received anything in respect of the former EFCC chairman,’’ the official explained.

A counsel to the embattled CP, Tosin Ojaomo, confirmed that the IG had yet to act on Magu’s case, adding that his client would soon be redeployed.

He stated, “He would soon be redeployed; he is waiting for the IG to send his posting letter. There is no cause for alarm.’’
