Shocking: Seven Weeks After Wedding, First Wife Sets Newlywed Wife On Fire

A newlywed woman identified as Fatima from Katsina State was reportedly burnt to death by her husband’s first wife in Minna, Niger State.

The incident happened on Tuesday, March 23, about seven weeks after the deceased got married to the Niger state indigene.

A family source, who spoke to Katsina Post, said the first wife and the newlywed wife were not living in the same house.

According to him, the first wife went to Fatima’s house(Newlywed) and beat her to pulp. Afterwards, she locked her up inside the room and set it on fire, burning the new bride to death.

“They were not living in the same house but the first wife went to the newlywed wife house which is not far and beat her to death before locking her room up and setting her ablaze”, the family source said.

The deceased(Newywed) will be buried according to Islamic rites today, Wednesday, March 24, at Sabuwar Unguwa residential area in Katsina metropolis.

A young woman, Chinwendu Promise Ifeabunandu (Nee Okafor) has died just weeks after getting married to Chukwuebuka Ifeabunandu on April 28.

According to a report by Kemifilani, the recently married woman died on May 19, after a brief illness.

It was gathered that the young bride who just finished her WAEC and married same month died of a strange illness which the doctors couldn’t detect.

“Few days after her wedding, she started feeling funny and her stomach was swelling. Chinwendu was rushed to a near byhopsital, tests were ran and nothing was discovered. When we thought she was getting better, we lost her. Her husband who at that time had gone back to his base in Germany, returned. Sadly,he has already started making preparations for her to join him overseas but for the ugly incidence.”

When asked about the circumstance surrounding Chinwendu’s early marriage when she had barely finished her Secondary school, the source revealed that the whole marriage idea was her mothers.

“The father is a very principled man. He didn’t want to give his daughter away just so soon, but his wife persuaded him. I guess it was all about marrying ‘Onye obodo Oyibo’ (Man based overseas),” a source told Kemi Filani.

Meanwhile, via his Facebook post, her elder brother Nwakanwa Okafor, simply wrote “unexpected death” as the major cause of her death.
