Anambra Lawmaker, Hon. Nonso Smart Okafor has continued to boost his chances of winning the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) Anambra 2021 Governorship ticket, with support from Anambra West.
The Governorship Aspirant who was received by wards and local government executives of APGA in Anambra West, today, Wednesday, May 19th, 2021, had a deep interaction with party faithfuls in the L.G.A about his Governorship ambition.
Speaking to party members, Hon. Nonso Smart Okafor said that he was not contesting the Governorship position because there is a constitutional need to replace Governor Obiano, but it was to provide a leadership that will be an embodiment of the people’s desires.
He said that at the current stage of the state development, there is a need for a leadership driven by youthful energy, innovation, and a clear vision that will open a new direction.

On his plans for Anambra West, he noted that although the L.G.A is arguably the food basket of Anambra state, there a need to improve the road infrastructure of the area, which he believes will open up the area.
According to him, the greatest challenge of the area is the perennial flooding which ravages farmlands in the L.G.A year in, year out, noting that as an area predominantly dominated by farmers with few agro-industries, the challenges of the area has been captured in his VISA ECONOMY plan.

He revealed that his government will make huge budgetary provisions and attract massive financial investments in agriculture, especially in food production and processing.
Expressing support, the Chairman of APGA in Anambra West, Hon. Godwin Onyeka, who spoke on behalf of party members praised Hon. Nonso Smart Okafor for his boldness and courage, promising him of the support of the L.G.A.
