PLANE CRASHES: Nigerian Air Force Set For Investigation

On Tuesday 25th May 2021, The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) declared and announced the setting up of a committee to investigate incessant crashes involving its aircraft.

Anaedoonline.ng gathered that three planes belonging to the Nigerian Air Force had crashed within three months. The new committee set up by the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Oladayo Amao, comprises serving and retired officers.

This was made known in a statement on Tuesday by the spokesperson of NAF, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet. According to Gabkwet, the committee members are to conduct a safety audit of all NAF operational and engineering units.

He stated that Air Marshal Amao directed the committee to submit its report on or before 18th June 2021. Gabkwet added that the committee will be chaired by the Deputy Theatre Commander, Operation HADIN KAI, Air Vice Marshal Abraham Adole.

”The Committee is to, among other terms of reference, analyze safety reports from operational and engineering units, conduct safety evaluation of NAF units, and recommend measures to enhance the safety of operations in the units.

”The Committee is also to interact with unit operational and technical personnel for views, observations, and contributions on safety measures,” the statement read.
