Southeast Nigeria has really good men but given that we and you, admit it, have the time, we try to find out which state produces the best husband materials. Many will ask can geographical location affect how someone treats their spouse? We are not very sure but we are aware that one can be affected by our environment and the way of life they are brought up in.

Who is a husband material?

A husband material according to most Nigerian women is a man who takes care of their needs- emotionally, financially, sexually and stays home without cheating on her. Some ladies will add a man that does not smoke or drink. For some, it is a man who is religious to the core.

One thing we wish for is to be given clay and water to mold our dream man. In the absence of that, you cannot see everything you want in a man. So a husband material will be someone whose attribute meets at least 70% of these. This article will tell you which southeast state produces the best husband materials according to these set standards.

Some states like Abia and Imo argue that their men are better. Well, this in-depth report will expose which state in South East Nigeria has the best husband materials.

Anambra Men

Anambra men pride themselves as the best husband materials in the southeast. They also forget that Anambra men leave broken hearts wherever they go.

@clarah_fransis on Twitter says “If I am half as smart as I like to think I am, I would avoid Anambra men. All my heartbreak stories were written, produced, and directed by them.

Unconfirmed statistics would say that most Abia and Imo women would love to marry from Anambra because they take care of their wife, in this they mean, they take care of their wives financially.

Anambra men will gloat to this, their frontline stars like E-money constantly flaunt his wife on his Instagram and buys her exotic cars, jewelries, expensive trips, and vacations.

Five reasons Igbo men marry rather late

No be today something, back in the day, it is said that a typical Anambra man would wear white-washed jean shorts and raggedy polo but his wife would climb down from a hummer jeep looking dapper than Beyoncé.

They pride themselves in their women, “Have you seen my wife?” is a scoring point at beer parlour arguments with bottles of O’mpa littered on their table and a side chic sitting next to them grinning from ear to ear.

If you are looking to guarantee your financial future but not your heart, Anambra men will take you on that ride.

Abia men

Those ones are said to lay down their lives for their wives but not their money. No No No.

It is either you follow him to Ariaria and make that money or you don’t get an extra dime aside from the basics- foodstuff, household maintenance, transport, etc. Don’t even talk about extra allowance.

Notice that among women married to Abia men, the discussion of inflating the cost price of foodstuffs to get extra pocket money is normalized but sounds strange to women married to Anambra men.

That is why Abia women hustle just as much as men. The 50/50 world started a long time ago down there. Somehow owing to this, most Abia families have women as the breadwinner. These statistics are unconfirmed but 4 out of 10 families are likely run by the woman.

Typically Abia men are less likely to cheat with their full chest, they respect their woman, she is not just an item bought at the market for display, she is a confidant, a life partner, a co-builder. They are one of the best husband materials.

If you are a woman who likes to hustle, build with her man and be respected and adored, run away from Anambra men and embrace these loving Abia men. Men like Noble Igwe, Senator Abaribe, Orji Uzor Kalu will tell you what a typical Abia man is to his wife.

Ebonyi Men

These ones are mathematicians. It is a give and takes. What you give is what you get. You love him deeply, he loves you, you hustle to bring money to the table, he hustles harder for both of you. Because Ebonyi is an offshoot of Abia, their cultures and environmental behaviour are similar.

They are less likely to cheat. Just like Abia women, Ebonyi women struggle to feed the family.

If you are allergic to living lavishly, Ebonyi men gat you, the rich ones, for instance, those in Alaba who have the money, you will expect that their wives will be buzzing but NO, they are still timid and still under them.

Ebonyi men would rather have mansions in the village they visit once a year than in the city. This is common for most Igbo families but Ebonyi has it in extreme. You would expect that a man who has a 3-star lodge in the village will have at worst a tasty flat in the city, you are wrong. He is likely to be living in a face me I face you.

As for that house in the village, they will keep their grandmother who would be cooking firewood inside the parlour while they live from hand to mouth in the city. That is why Ebonyi people are seen as poor, no they are not. Some are richer than your regular, they just have something against living lavishly.

As for most of their learned children who are doctors, lawyers, journalists and doing well, they have reduced the mentality but you will still see it somehow. For instance, Tekno’s net worth is $2.5 million, he is a billionaire and yet he hardly flaunts wealth. Generally, they are recommended as good husband materials.

One thing about them that is different is they marry themselves. The chances of an Ebonyi man marrying outside of Ebonyi are less than his chances of looking within. They also help their wives achieve their full potential.

If you are family-oriented, marry an Ebonyi. They take their extended and nuclear family seriously. If your husband misbehaves, relatives will come to your rescue and discipline him accordingly.

If you are career-driven and you need a man who will support you to the core look out for the educated Ebonyi men.

Imo State

The oringo city has very unique features in their men’s behaviour towards their wives. 9 out of 10 times they are hardly home in time. The women are left to raise the children with absent fathers who are in a bar, with side chics or friends.

Five things to talk to an Igbo guy on the first date

Imo husband materials are typical providers. They will ordinarily provide for their woman, everything she needs within his capacity but they would not lavish you. You want lavish? Go get it!

Domestic violence is also predominant in Imo, 78.8% of the women in Imo state have ever been battered by their male counterparts. This has seen a significant decline from 2002 till now. Apart from that, they are good husbands and fathers.

Enugu State

Enugu men respect their wives. That is a word on marble. Because of early civilization, they are agreeable. They let the wife be in control for a large part.

Financially, they spoil their women with expensive items, exotic gifts, trips but they are not the type to pamper. A typical Enugu husband material will spoil his wife silly on her birthday but every day is every day for the rest of the year. Compared to Anambra they are not big on year-round flexing.

They are the typical civil servants, moderate lifestyle, the rich ones also live moderately rich. However, a fraction of Enugu men which are the Nkanu men have been labeled as terrible husbands even the educated among them, their pitfall being domestic violence e.g a guy names Collins who dated this girl I know Chidinma (Real names) the day he beat his girlfriend was the day I was told of how poorly behaved Nkanu men can be. Feel free to dispute or corroborate.

On the last note, husband materials depend on the fabric you are buying and how many yards you can wear, daalu nu.
