On-Air Presenters, OAPs, are radio hosts whose contributions defies summaries. OAPs are the voice on radio programmes responsible for introducing and interviewing guests, linking segments, and generally holding the stations and individual shows together.

OAPs are an entertaining and great company; the really good ones have fans calling into their show and idolizing them on the streets, social media, and elsewhere, because of the good content they give their listeners. A good on-air presenter should have the ability to entertain, educate, inform, stand out, have a distinct voice, hold conversations and be versatile. Some of them have a go-to slang they are identified with.  

The following OAPs have distinguished themselves in their different radio stations and beyond their locality such that they are recognized outside their area of coverage, such that they have become a force in popular culture. 

Nani Boi

Nani Boi whose real name is Nnaemeka Charles Eze was born on the 23rd of March 1983. He is one of the most popular and successful OAPs in the southeast. He is a part-time Radio Presenter at Dream 92.5fm Enugu. Nani boi is also a god on stage. He is not a full-time Igbo Mc, his English is more fluent than his Igbo although he combines both brilliantly. 


He is also a screenwriter and author of children’s books. Nani boi was born in Nsukka, Enugu State, but a native of Orba in Udenu Local Government area, Enugu State, Nigeria. He studied Geology at the University of Nigeria Nsukka.

He is married to Actress Uloma Eze. He is also a Musician, featuring artists like Mr. Raw, Kcee (musician), Dekumzy. 

Dream FM Enugu prides itself as the number one radio station in South East Nigeria. It was established by Sen. Ike Ekweremadu to serve the Igbo culture. Its luxurious studio is situated in Enugu state Nigeria. Dream FM has the largest reach of all the stations. Its reach covers the entire South East states uninterrupted.

It hosts programmes for age brackets 18 to 45 with lively and professional On Air Presenters like Nani Boi. 

IykeDgee, Magic FM ABA

Iykedgee is an on-air presenter at Magic FM’s morning breakfast show on 1029. He is conversational, lively, articulate, and interactive in simple relatable languages. 

His real name is Ikechukwu Agu but best known as Iykedgee. Iyke is a media consultant, radio personality and also the Station Manager at Magic 102.9 FM Aba, Abia. 


Magic FM located in Aba Abia state is the new bride of the east. It distinguished itself from other stations by giving factual analysis and criticism of the government in power. This earned the brand unquestionable consumer trust.

It also projected its entertainment sector becoming the go-to companion for most listeners. Its timely and factual report also earned it a spot in the listener’s heart. It was founded in May 2013 by Saturn Communications Limited. It is one of the best radio stations in the South East. 

Nwanyi Nawfija of Solid FM


The way she proudly promotes Nawfija on her radio show (Solid Fm) is admirable. Offstage name is Christiana Ozioma Ejiofor, popularly called “Ijele”. She is the OAP of #Obaegwu, #Kaobanye_Na_Kaopuo on Thursdays and #Ogeudo on Fridays 5 to 6 pm, Co-anchor of #Ijele program on Mondays 12:30 to 2 pm and Fridays 8:30 to 9:30pm, Co-anchor of #Ikoro on Wednesdays, former anchor of voice to the people – a community development program by APAGG on Wednesdays 3 to3:30pm and Girly girl show on Wednesdays 8 to 9pm, all on Solid 100.9 FM Enugu.

She is also an Actor, Marketer, Content Producer, Reporter, Entertainer, co-presenter, Investigative journalist, A Human Rights activist and a Custodian of Igbo Language, Culture and Tradition in Nigeria and beyond. 


She was born on the 28th day of March 1985 in Jos, Plateau State Nigeria, studied Diploma Mass communication, BSc. and Msc Marketing from Enugu State University of Science & Technology Enugu, PGD Education from Enugu State College of Education Technical (ESCET, other professional courses, and training. 

She is from Nawfija, in Orumba South L. G. A. of Anambra State. She speaks Igbo, Hausa, and English fluently.

She is currently the vice-chairman of the Actors Guild of Nigeria Enugu State Chapter, the period 2021 to 2024. She now does political programs Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 4 to 6 pm. Titled “inaegekwa”.  This lady of many feathers is the deputy programs manager in solid 100.9fm Enugu.

Orakwue Ifeanyi V. A.K.A Huge Man of Radio Sapientia

Ifeanyi Orakwue is a sportscaster with Radio Sapientia Onitsha as an OAP. He is entertaining, funny, and very versed in his knowledge of sports. Aside from sports, he anchors the following Programs

Lorenzo Menakaya

Lorenzo Menakaya is one of the few OAPs in the southeast who has bagged national recognition. He is a university of Nigeria Nsukka trained presenter. 


He is also an actor, renowned event host, filmmaker, and singer. He received nominations for On-Air Personality OAP of the year at The Future Awards Africa (TFAA) 2011 and 2012, and he won the award of Outstanding Radio Presenter at the Nigerian Broadcasters Merit Awards 2016. 

Born Tochukwu Lorenzo Uzonna Menakaya to the Menakaya dynasty of Umunya in Anambra State, Nigeria. He was educated at the University of Nigeria Secondary School, Nsukka; asides studying Religion at the University of Nigeria, he received a short training in broadcasting at Institut Panos Afrique de l’Ouest (PANOS Institute West Africa), Dakar, Senegal and Institute for Media and Society, Lagos Nigeria.

He recorded his first short film Sundown Tale in 2015 and in 2019, he produced his debut feature film Ordinary Fellows co-directing with Ikenna Aniekwe. In 2019, he was one of the hosts of the 15th Africa Movie Academy Awards along with actress Kemi Lala Akindoju and comedian Funnybone. He played the role of Ubong on Trace TV‘s Crazy, Lovely, Cool.


He is currently an OAP to many programmes at Lion FM Nsukka. He is also the station manager.
