BREAKING: Former Nigerian Governor Is Dead

A former military governor of Ondo State, Sunday Abiodun Olukoya, is dead. The retired Rear Admiral died on Tuesday after battling with an undisclosed ailment.

Olukoya was the military governor of Ondo state between 1989 and 1992 before the state was split into Ondo and Ekiti.

He led the state for a few years under the regime of General Ibrahim Babangida.

UPDATE: Former Nigerian Governor Is Dead

The deceased took over power from retired Commodore Olabode George and handed it over to Bamidele Olomilua.

The funeral arrangements would be disclosed by the family.

This is coming after the death of a former Senator representing Ogun East in the National Assembly, Otunba Olabiyi Durojaye was announced.

Anaedoonline.ng reports that the former lawmaker, who served from 1999 to 2003, died in the early hours of Tuesday in a Lagos hospital after a brief illness.
