Unknown Gunmen Kill Two Police Officers, Lawyers, Six Others In Ebonyi

A fresh gunmen attack in Ebonyi State has reportedly claimed the lives of two police officers, two lawyers and seven others noted to be farmers.

Anaedoonline.ng learnt that the terrorist group on Thursday, October 7, stormed Isu and Onicha-Igboeze, both communities in the Onicha Local Government Area of the state.

The Police Public Relations Officer, in the state, DSP Loveth Odah, confirmed the attack to Journalists but said she has limited information about the incident as at the time she was contacted.

She, however, said the Commissioner of Police in the state, Aliyu Garba, has been informed of the situation and had since dispatched a team of policemen to the area.

The report monitored by Naija News on Daily Post, claimed that the cops were gunned down in Isu while others were lynched in Onicha Igboeze.

The two lawyers involved in the incident were reportedly passing with a vehicle when they ran into the gunmen who operated with a Lexus Jeep.

The gunmen wasted no time in killing them and also burnt the vehicle they operated in and left the scene in the lawyers’ vehicle.

Recently, the state command of the Nigeria Police Force confirmed that it killed two suspected members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and Eastern Security Network, ESN.

In a statement signed by the Assistant Police Public Relations Officer in the state, ASP Levi Philips, the command revealed the suspects were gunned down at their hideout in Ugwulangwu, in the Onicha Local Government Area of the state.

The operation reportedly follows a tip-off received on which a team of officers acted upon and trailed some of the hoodlums to their hideout.
