Couple Opens Up On Why They Killed Three of Their Children, Dumped One

A couple in Osun State has confessed to killing their children due to their miserable life.

Anaedoonline.ng understands that the revelation was made after one of the parents was arrested for beating one of their children to death.

The husband who is simply identified as Sanjo reportedly beat their two months old child to death for crying too much.

In a statement released on Sunday, the Osun State Government revealed that the resident of the Alekuwodo area in Osogbo, the state capital, descended on the innocent child until he died.

The state Commissioner for Women, Children and Social Affairs, Olubukola Olaboopo, who made the disclosure said the ministry got a distressed call of the crime through a source.

Olaboopo said government officials moved in, arrested the 43-year-old suspect and subsequently handed him over to the police.

Sanjo who revealed he got married to his wife in 2008 and they had five children, said it was the third child that he beat unintentionally to death.

“My wife left the child with me and she started crying. I did all I could to placate her, but she kept crying. Something just came upon me and I beat the two-month-old baby to death. My wife and I buried the child on our farmland,” the suspect said.

In her confession, Sanjo’s wife who was also invited for interrogation said four of their five children had died, leaving them with only the last child.

She explained that she conspired with her husband to kill two of the children due to poverty, while they dumped one child around the Osogbo Technical School area.

While affirming that due investigation would be carried out on the incidents and the culprits would taste the punishment for their crimes, Olaboopo warned that the state government would not condone acts of violence and child abuse.
