Nnamdi Kanu’s Trial: DSS Bars Journalists From Covering Proceedings

Reporters, lawyers and other observers have been barred from covering the trial of detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, at the Federal High Court in Abuja.

Anaedoonline.ng gathered that journalists who had arrived at the court premises as early as 6am, were denied access to the courtroom by operatives of the Department of State Services, DSS

It was learned that reporters from print and broadcast stations were turned back by hooded DSS officers and other security agents who barricaded all routes leading to the court.

Justice Binta Nyako had postponed Kanu’s case to today for further hearing after rejecting his plea to be transferred from the custody of the Department of State Service, DSS, to Kuje correctional facility.

The IPOB leader is facing a seven-count charge bordering on terrorism, treason and others, preferred against him by the Federal Government.
