The invasion saw the IPOB leader flee to Europe.

The counsel to Kanu, Aloy Ejimakor, had filed a fundamental human rights suit against the Nigerian government and the Nigerian Army.

The IPOB leader prayed the court to declare the invasion of his residence by the Nigerian government as illegal and an infringement of his fundamental human right.

Justice Anya while ruling on the suit described the action of the Nigerian Army as notorious hence the Nigerian government should tender an apology.

The ruling of the judge was made public on Friday by the counsel to the IPOB on Twitter.
