The House of Representatives conducted a test run of the electronic voting equipment on Wednesday, ahead of a vote on a constitutional change.

Hon. Femi Gbajabiamia, Speaker of the House, announced that the lower house of the legislative Assembly will ensure the machine’s functioning before voting day.

The purpose of the test was to eliminate any uncertainty while voting on extremely contentious subjects, as the Constitution is normally considered clause by clause, with the presiding officer having no impact on the voting.
