Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki has distanced himself from social media remarks he alleges were made by mischief makers.

The governor said in a statement on Thursday that such troublemakers are leveraging the ongoing ‘discussion’ between leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to create a problem.

According to Obaseki, he is open to a peaceful settlement to the party’s problems.

What Wike Said On Obaseki Leaving PDP Again

“There has been a rush of statements and comments on social media by mischief makers who are using the ongoing debate amongst leaders within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to stir up trouble and generate discontent,” he added.

“These words, as well as their reckless behavior, are categorically denounced.”
We use this opportunity to disassociate ourselves from the activities of these critics.

“The party’s national leadership is already working with the issues, and we are committed to a peaceful settlement of any challenges that may develop.”

Both Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State and Obaseki, according to Anaedoonline.ng, have been engaging in a battle of words over the problem afflicting the Peoples Democratic Party’s Edo State branch (PDP).

PDP Crisis: Wike Lambasts Obaseki, Apologizes To Oshiomhole

Wike had chastised Edo State Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu on Saturday for suggesting that some of his followers would abandon the PDP due to unresolved issues in the state chapter.

But in defence of his deputy, Obaseki in a statement sent on Naija News on Monday and signed by his spokesman, Crusoe Osagie, described the attack against Shaibu as most unfortunate and totally uncalled for.

Responding, Wike lambasted Obaseki for his outburst, describing him as a serial betrayer and ungrateful person, adding that former Edo Governor Adams Oshiomole who warned him about Obaseki’s behaviour has been vindicated.
