According to Adejobi, police officers can only stop any car with tinted windows, search the vehicle and its occupants, and then release the vehicle after a thorough inspection.

“No policeman should demand your customs paperwork,” Adejobi remarked. Unless they’re on a combined operation, which isn’t just an usual inspection.

“We’ve put a halt to the issue of tinted glass permits, so we don’t expect our men to cause any problems for Nigerians.”

“We are to stop any car with tints, search the vehicle and its occupants, but not to delay because tinted glass permits have not been obtained.”
