Anambra: Gov Soludo Reveals Debt He Inherited From Obiano

Charles Soludo, the incoming governor of Anambra State, revealed the amount owed by the state’s immediate former governor, Willie Obiano, on Tuesday.

According to Soludo, his predecessor left $300 million in cash and a debt of over $400 billion as of December 2021, according to Arise TV.

Other financial information from January to date, according to the former Central Bank Governor, are not available.

He, however, added that the details will be made available as quickly as possible because they’re public documents.

Obiano was arrested at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Obiano was reportedly on his way to the United States of America after handing over to Soludo.

The anti-graft agency subsequently transferred Obiano to the headquarters of the commission, where he was quizzed for days over alleged mismanagement of N42bn and inflated contract.

Obiano is still in the custody of the commission despite being granted bail, following his inability to perfect his bail condition.
