2023: Why I Relocated From Port Harcourt To Abuja – Amaechi

Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, the former governor of Rivers State, has stated that he is terrified of his replacement, Governor Nyesom Wike.

When asked if he will help his party seize power from Wike in the forthcoming 2023 election, Maechi stated this during an interview on Channels TV.

“My eyes are here [in Abuja],” Amaechi remarked, adding that Wike now controls Rivers politics and that charity begins at home.

“This is now my home.” My governor is the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, and Abuja is now my home. “This is where I reside and conduct business.”

“When we reach the bridge, we’ll cross it,” he stated when asked if he planned to return to Rivers state.
For the time being, the Minister of the FCT is my Governor.

On whether he was afraid of Nyesom Wike, Amaechi said, “Yes. I’m very afraid of him. I’m very afraid.”

The interviewer probed further to know why the former Governor was afraid of his successor, to which Amechi replied, “Because I’m a ‘fear fear man’ now. What’s your problem? When we get to the bridge we’ll cross the bridge,” he said laughing.
