On Thursday, groups supporting former Anambra Governor Peter Obi’s presidential ambition acquired the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) declaration of interest and nominations on his behalf.
Ekene Nwakuche, the spokesman for the coalition of organisations under the aegis of Like Minds for Peter Obi, told reporters at the PDP national office that the Governor has the power to save Nigeria.
He stated that the decision to get nomination papers for the Vice-Presidential candidate in the 2019 general elections was motivated by his deep concern for the country’s dire situation.

“We don’t belong to any political party,” he stated. We’re merely a bunch of young Nigerian professionals who believe the country is headed in the wrong path and that the country needs someone, a seasoned technocrat, to lead the country’s affairs in the correct direction while lowering the cost of governing.
“We believe that lowering the cost of government would help the country progress in the correct path.”
As a result, we want the country to progress. We feel Peter Obi can lead it forward, and we have faith in him because of what he accomplished as governor of Anambra.
“We’re not in this business for the money.” We’re doing it for the sake of our children. Because I’m not sure where we’ll be in 2023 if we don’t get it right this time. If you’re from Nigeria, whether you’re from the north, south, east, or west, and you want to see a better Nigeria, I don’t believe you’ll support anyone else except Peter Obi.”

Take Back Nigeria, a coalition member, offered to donate Peter Obi ten million dollars.
“We were joined by other groups as well.”Take Back Nigeria, for example, is a nonpartisan organization. As well as several groupings. They desire a more prosperous Nigeria. And they feel Peter Obi is the one guy who can help us.
“The Take Back Nigeria group say they will bring 10 million votes, the youth vote to PDP to Peter Obi. So if PDP gets it right and picks Peter, we know that we will deliver Nigeria to you. And we pray that he will lead us to the promised land,” he said.
