His Royal Highness (HRH) Alhaji Hassan Shamidozhi, the traditional ruler of Bukpe village in Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has reportedly been kidnapped by unknown gunmen.

According to reports made accessible to journalists on Thursday morning, the monarch was kidnapped at gunpoint while getting some fresh air in front of his palace.

The monarch’s brother, Malam Jibrin D. Gimba, confirmed the event to Newsmen, saying unknown gunmen stormed the location about 9:32 p.m. on Wednesday.

“I just walked into my house after he his palace when he said he wanted to take some shower after which he will come out rest in front of his palace to take some fresh air {sic}” said Gimba who is the Chief Imam of the Community’s Central Mosque.

He added: “Some few minutes later, I started hearing gunshots… I watched through my window and discovered that the kidnappers had whisked him away.”

Anaedoonline.ng however understands that the kidnappers have not made any contact with the family.

Gimba told newsmen that policemen arrived at the location some moments after the attack.

The spokesperson of the FCT police command, DSP Adeh Josephine, had not responded to inquiries as of the time of filing this report.
