Gunmen attacked a livestock market in Igboukwu, Aguata Local Government Area, Anambra State, on Thursday evening, slaughtering cows and goats.
According to Anaedoonline.ng, the gunmen traveled to Igboukwu after burning down houses and cars in Ekwulobia, the capital of Soludo’s local government council.
The incidence was corroborated by Mr Iyke Orji, who was in the neighborhood.
“The mystery firemen/gunmen, after destroying Aguata local government Secretariat, went via Ekwulobia and headed straight to Igboukwu,” Orji said on Facebook.
“Stopping at Igboukwu gallop, there’s a cattle ranch selling over 30 cows by your right hand, those animals belong to an Igbo guy.”
“These guys entered there, and killed all the cows belonging to an Igbo man.”
A video trending on social media also showed slain cows littering the cattle market, with traders bemoaning their loss.
